Sparklers

St James Sparklers Sunday School is a warm and inclusive group where every child is welcomed and valued.  Through engaging Bible stories, creative crafts, fun games and lively music, children are encouraged to explore faith in a joyful and age-appropriate way. Sparklers is a safe and happy space to make friends, ask questions and grow together in God's love

The weekly sessions are run by leaders who are members of St James Church family and have children of varying ages of their own.  There are always at least 2 adults in each session who have formal safeguarding training and appropriate CRB checks?? may want to not include that.  We run sessions weekly in term time at our 10am Sunday Service (except the 1st Sunday of the month which is our super fun family friendly all age service incorporating our Scallopinis children's and family choir)

The sessions tend to be designed for primary school aged children although any aged child is most welcome.  We regularly have babies and toddlers joining and ask that any child under 4 is joined by a supervising adult.  Children over 5 are most welcome to join with or without an adult - whatever they are more comfortable with.

Format: The whole church starts Sunday together in our main 10am service - Children and families are encouraged to sit wherever they feel most comfortable, with a comfy children's and family area full of beanbags, books, puzzles and toys available.  After the first hymn has been sung, and special collect prayer has been said, Sparklers head out to the Annexe where we read a bible story and take part in activities - rejoining the rest of the church service for communion and the last hymn.
