Jesse Tree

St James Primary Academy and St James Church Pokesdown are creating a large Jesse Tree on the playground fence this year. Each class and the church Sparklers group will be decorating large baubles to attach to the tree on the fence. A Jesse Tree is a visual Christian Advent tradition used to count down the days to Christmas by tracing the family tree and ancestral lineage of Jesus Christ from creation to his birth. You are invited to join in this tradition at home too, by colouring in and cutting out each of the baubles as we journey through Advent. On the back you will find the bible story that goes with each image.

Each day there is a bible reading, something to discuss, a short prayer and an image to colour in, cut out and hang on the Jesse tree.
